James 1:27

Up to this point, our largest worry and prayer was the overwhelming cost of adoption.  Our minds have been racing with ways to fund this adoption...fundraising, trying to put money in savings, selling things...you name it, it crossed our minds.  Today, God answered our prayers in a single letter. Friends from church handed the letter to us wrapped in Christmas paper and a bow.  The letter indicated that a couple from church has decided to sponsor our entire adoption from the DRC.  Our biggest concern eliminated!  In the letter the couple indicated they had prayed and felt led by 2 scriptures: James 1:27 and Galatians 2:20.

James 1:27 Religion that God our Father accepts as pure and faultless is this: to look after orphans and widows in their distress and to keep oneself from being polluted by the world.

Galatians 2:20 I have been crucified with Christ and I no longer live, but Christ lives in me.  The life I now live in the body, I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave himself for me.

We are completely blown away by this selfless gift.  We have spent the past few hours staring at each other wondering why someone would do this for us.  Finally, after dinner, we've resolved that this isn't truly for us, this is really a gift from God and for God.  God through this anonymous couple has given an orphan the opportunity to know they are a child of God and in the process, allowing us to become parents.

  2. Woohoo! Spectacular news! When God puts it on your heart, it's amazing to see how all sorts of doors open. What a blessing for you two and your little one as well as the donor to help bring a family together.
